Line

You'll want a durable line, minimum of 20 lb test, braided line or monofilament. You may also want a heavier leader line (30+ pound fluorocarbon).

Bait & Tackle

Live bait is often the most effective, but frozen baits work as well. A net is very important for landing larger fish as you are high above the water. We have frozen bait available for purchase.

Rod & Reel

A medium-heavy spinning rod, 7 to 9 feet in length, is a good choice for pier fishing. It should be able to handle a variety of fish sizes and weights.

OC Fishing Pier has have everything you need! One of the great things about fishing from the OC Fishing Pier is that you do not need to purchase a personal Maryland fishing license. We cover all anglers on the pier, so as long as you are fishing through OC Fishing Pier, you're good to go!!
